Microsoft 365 Premium vs Personal vs Family — Which One Is Right for You?

Users, devices, storage, Copilot access, price and activation compared side by side, with a plain verdict on which Microsoft 365 plan to buy.

Microsoft sells several Microsoft 365 plans that look almost identical on paper. In Bangladesh the choice usually comes down to three: Premium, Personal and Family. This guide compares them on the things that actually change your decision — how many people can use it, how much cloud storage you get, whether Copilot AI is included, and what each one costs in Taka at LicenseMart BD. Quick comparison Feature Premium Personal Family Users 1 1 Up to 6 Devices PC/Mac, tablet and phone for that user Up to 5 devices 5 devices per user OneDrive storage 1TB 1TB 6TB total (1TB per user) Copilot AI in Office apps Included Limited Limited, primary account Price at LicenseMart BD ৳2,500 / year See live price ৳17,500 / year Billing Annual subscription Annual subscription Annual subscription Activation method Applied to your own Microsoft account email Applied to your own Microsoft account email Primary account invites 5 members by email Product page Premium 1 Year Personal 1 Year Family 1 Year All three include the same core desktop applications — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote — with updates for the whole subscription year. The differences are in seats, storage and AI features, not in the apps themselves. Microsoft 365 Premium — the single-user pick Premium is the plan we recommend to most individual buyers: students writing assignments, freelancers building decks, and office staff who want Outlook and Excel on their own laptop. At ৳2,500 per year it is the cheapest way to get the current Office apps plus 1TB of OneDrive and the Copilot AI features on a personal account. See the full breakdown of features, delivery time and payment options on the Microsoft 365 Premium page , or read our 2026 price guide for Bangladesh . Choose Premium if: one person will use it, you want Copilot inside Word and Excel, and you would rather not pay for seats nobody uses. Microsoft 365 Personal — the minimal single seat Personal covers one user with 1TB of OneDrive and the same desktop apps, but with a narrower set of AI features than Premium. It suits someone who mainly needs Word, Excel and Outlook and does not care about Copilot at all. Because our Personal listing is priced per current stock, check the live figure on the Microsoft 365 Personal 1 Year product page before comparing. Choose Personal if: you want a straightforward single-user subscription and Copilot is not part of your workflow. Microsoft 365 Family — up to six people Family gives up to six people their own Microsoft account, their own 1TB of OneDrive and their own installs — 6TB of storage in total. The buyer becomes the primary account and invites the other five members by email; each member keeps their own files privately. At ৳17,500 per year that works out to roughly ৳2,917 per person if all six seats are used — but only if they really are used. Two people sharing a Family plan pay far more per head than two separate Premium subscriptions. See the Microsoft 365 Family product page for what is included. Choose Family if: four or more people in one household or small team each need their own account and storage. What about a one-time purchase instead? None of these three plans is permanent — they all expire after a year. If you want to pay once and keep using the software, a perpetual release such as Office 2021 Home & Business or Office 2019 Home & Student is the alternative. The trade-off: no OneDrive storage allowance, no Copilot, and no feature updates — you keep the version you bought. Our guide Office 2024 vs Microsoft 365 covers that decision in detail, and you can browse everything side by side in the Microsoft Office category .
